More Disappointment - When it Rains, it Pours!

The United States Army and its recruiters and other representatives have repeatedly lied, misled, and otherwise deceived my husband into enlisting.

Sgt. Val’s (currently stationed in San Antonio) behavior, in particular, has been abhorrent.

Now, upon his arrival at the MEPS here, they had him sign a new contract containing no provision whatsoever for him to go to English school. In addition, they have repeatedly and several times a day over the past few days forced Fabrice to sign documents that he did not understand. They further refused to allow him the use of a translator, or even to call me to ensure that he knew what he was signing. In doing so, they are refusing to allow him to attend English school, and refusing him to keep the MOS of cook. They say his English is fine, he doesn’t need English school, and that they don’t need cooks but regular infantry, only.

And so, therefore, Fabrice was allowed to call me today to let me know that he is leaving the Army because of their breach of oral and written promises and contracts. He said they would be sending him back home to California tomorrow. I hope to God that that is not another lie or I will be forced to take even more drastic action to defend what is good and right about this country, not to mention my husband’s best interests.

I am writing to advise you that we will be filing a formal complaint throughout the US Army recruiting chain of command, and, if necessary, a legal civil or criminal complaint as well as contacting the media upon Fabrice safe return home.

The people at the San Jose MEPS, the personnel at Fort Sill, and the members of the recruiting team in San Antonio are a disgrace to the uniforms they wear, a shameful representation of the United States military, liars and cheaters who not only do not live the mission, vision, or values of the United States Army, but who will stoop lower than low to coerce a non-native English speaker into signing his life away and then changing the rules on him in order to send him straight into combat without even the promised training.

I am ashamed to have people like this representing, much less defending, our country.
