I received this lovely anonymous email about my mom the other day:
Your mother and I were friends long ago in Pound Ridge, NY. As teenagers, we managed to explore NYC one summer on a weekly basis. Today I found a book autographed by your father and thought of your mother. Looking for her online, I found her in your pictures. My father died of ALS also so I was saddened to learn that your family had to endure that cruel disease. Thank you for posting her 10th grade picture as well as the more recent ones. I'm sorry I missed the chance to meet her again.
