Don't Get Me Wrong

Please don't get me wrong. We understood that there was at least a 97% chance that Fabrice would be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. therein is not the problem.

The problem is the Army's lying, mocking, changing contractual agreements, and mocking my husband.

The problem is saying that he is going to ESL at Lackland for 18 weeks, 9 weeks Basic at fort Jackson, and 10 weeks cooks training in Fort Lee. And now saying that he doesn't need ESL, and they don't need cooks, so he has to go directly to Basic training, and then to be deployed.

The problem is forcing Fabrice to sign new contracts that he doesn't understand. The problem is mocking him when he tells them that he doesn't understand. The problem is refusing a foreign national, who barely speaks English the right to access to a translator, interpreter, or somebody who can explain what is going on.

The problem is he was supposed to be in English school yesterday.

The problem is that the Army is entrapping my husband and illegally imprisoning him without even a change of underwear or socks, against his will, and in contradiction to the oral and written engagements he initially entered into.

The problem is that his absence is a tremendous familial hardship.

The problem is that SFCs Ver and Or specifically told us to lie. SFC Ver told us to lie about Fabrice's divorce decree and dependent information, which we had all along, provided to hi, and he claimed to have "lost." SFC Or told me to lie on the financial hardship waiver and financial disclosure form. We currently have no income. The is a terrible, hardship and an untenable situation.

The problem is that when Fabrice tried to ask about emergency relief for his family, they literally laughed in his face and told him that they don't give a damn if we're on the street.

The problem is what SFC Val said about me, which SFC Or repeated to SFC F, and stupidly sent a copy to me.

The problem is that the doctor at Fort Sill did an ultrasound of Fabrice's prostate, and discovered that the has had a varicose vein surgically removed. We had forgotten all about that. It was a service-related injury from riding a motorcycle in Federal security motorcades in France. The doctor told Fabrice that he wouldn't mention it since it is a disqualifying factor. Another lie. That same doctor has repeatedly found Fabrice to have high blood pressure. Not once has his blood pressure been under 14 since he has been at Fort Sill. Another disqualifying factor. Another lie. More entrapment. More illegal imprisonment.

The problem is not me. It is not Fabrice. It is the US Army, the recruiters in San Antonio, and the cruel personnel at Fort Sill.

I believe that the only way for this to be resolved is to grant Fabrice either an early discharge, a hardship discharge, or to find him inapt for military service for medical reasons.

I am so ashamed of the Army I used to work for, so ashamed of this country, because of the Army's lies, coercion, entrapment, etc., that, even though I hate it there, I cannot get my husband back fast enough to go back to France. If I could sell my citizenship, I would.

The Army recruiters in San Antonio, with the sole exception of you, and the Army's representatives at Fort Sill are a disgrace to everything this country stands for, and to democracy itself.

Please help make this situation right, pay Fabrice for his time served in this imprisonment to make him whole, and get us out of this horrible farce of a country.
