The Controversial Survey
01] Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?
I think so, yes.
[02] Would you do meth if it was legalized?
No.
[03] Abortion: for or against it?
I don't think anybody is actually "for" abortion. I doubt anyone considers it a recreational or emotionally uplifting experience. But I do not believe any person has the right to dictate another person's life. Legal or not, people are going to get abortions, they might as well be made as safe as possible.
[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
No way. But I don't see what gender has to do with doing a job well.
[05] Do you believe in the death penalty?
Usually not, but once in a while. I then remind myself, to paraphrase Sister Helen Prejean, that that person may deserve to die, but that doesn't mean that I deserve to kill him or her.
[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Definitely. This may be more controversial than the rest of this survey, but I personally believe that marijuana should be legal and alcohol, not.
[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?
Neither "for" nor "against." It is what it is.
[08] Do you believe in God?
I do, yes. That said, I do not necessarily believe in religion. It seems to be a social construct that has proven to be a dismal failure.
[09] Do you think being gay/lesbian/bisexual should be accepted?
Absolutely.
[10] Do you think it's wrong that Hispanics are illegally moving to the U.S?
I didn't used to.
BUT, being responsible for a legal immigrant to the US and seeing the horrible pro-illegal discrimination taking place in this great country of ours, I have come to believe that it is wrong to immigrate illegally, no matter your country of origin.
[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
I cannot pretend to know another person or family's life. I would leave that decision up to the girl and the people who care about her.
[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
Nope, I think alcohol should be illegal for everyone.
[13] Should the war in Iraq be called off?
I think it's too late for that. But I do believe the goal should be to finish up there and leave Iraq to the Iraqis. All of them.
[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
No. We wouldn't allow a family pet to suffer the way we allow our people to. Where's the logic in that? Making assisted suicide illegal simply placates the weak of heart. Or mind.
[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?
No, in 99.99% of cases, I do not believe that spanking children serves anybody's best interests.
[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Probably. Burning American flags is the proper way to dispose of them, after all.
[17] Who do you think would make a better president?
This leaves a heck of a lot of options open. To answer what I think the question is getting at, Hillary.
[18] Do you think Obama will be killed?
I hope not, but of any president I can remember, he is probably the most vulnerable.
[19] Should child predators be forced to wear signs identifying themselves?
No. I think the current online-accessible listings and registries are sufficient, if done properly and kept up-to-date.
[20] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
To reiterate what Hedy said, If they do, that's their problem. I am who I am.
I think so, yes.
